WHO ARE WE?

Sigma Phi Lambda is a nationally reconized Christian sorority that strives to glorify God by providing fellowship for college women who truley seek a personal walk with Christ. It is a non-denominational organization of sisters where fellowship with God is encouraged  by growth in unity amoung sisters as they walk with christ. This is accomplished through weekly meetings that include prayer, worship, encouragement, fellowship, and sister support. Phi Lamb provides women with a enjoyable  alternative to panHellenic sororities. Sigma Phi Lambda is not panhellenic because as sisters of christ we follow the rules set forth by God instead of those of a panhellenic soceity. Our heart and passion can by summed up in our sorority verse, Romans 15:5-6:"May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus so that with one heart and one mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."

 

PURPOSE

Sigma Phi Lambda exists for the sole purpose of glorifying our Lord Jesus Christ and making His name great. 

 

What We Believe

Our statement of belief is the Apostles' Creed, one of the oldest and most unifying statements of faith in the history of the Christian faith: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again.He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.He will come again to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit, in the holy catholic* Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen

 

WHY JOIN SIGMA PHI LAMBDA?

Everyone has their own spiritail journey but that does not mean they must walk the path alone, at college it is easy to feel alone or get lost in the crowd but as a sisterhood it is our goal to support each other in our faith and grow in our relationship with God.
